Along with their dog, brothers Michael Luciano and Anthony Fulton escape one of the hardest hit areas. Miraculously, their home was one of the few spared in their neighborhood. Following the fires, they returned home to life among the ashes and began sharing images and footage from the Gatlinburg area. They are active participants in the future of the community. Be prepared for explicit language, as this was recorded during an extremely intense life-or-death event. 

In the immediate aftermath of the fires, much was unknown to the public. The devasting news began to unfold as images and footage of the area emerged. Emergency efforts persisted for days and the public was only allowed in through checkpoints. This was an ongoing event that took multiple days to contain, check, and gain access to. 

Ripley's Aquarium, Noah Bud Ogle's Place, and Downtown Gatlinburg are among the survivors of the wildfires.

Arrowmont's gallery spaces, classrooms, and most buildings survive. Pi Beta Phi suffers damages from nearby fires, but does not burn.

Local landmark The Mysterious Mansion is Intial reported as lost, but later it is confirmed it did in fact survive the fires.
